I have been a River Hall (RH) resident for three years, having retired here from northern Virginia; I am originally from South Carolina. I have been playing golf for approximately 25 years. Prior to my retirement, while residing in Virginia, I was involved with the Veterans Golf Association (VGA), where I managed tournaments and handicap systems for veterans across the state using the Golf Genius platform. Currently, I serve on the RH18MGA board as the Tournament Liaison.

I am a native of Fort Myers and have lived here all my life, moving to River Hall in 2017. I began playing golf about 17 years ago and have been addicted ever since. While I have no prior committee experience and am not a member of any other clubs, I have demonstrated strong golf experience by being the River Hall Ladies' Club Champion for six years running.

My name is Carol Martello. I was born and raised in Chicago. We became members of River Hall in 2016. I have been playing golf for about 15 years. I am currently the RH18LGA Tournament/Handicap Chairwoman. I look forward to have a great 2025-26 season.

I was born and raised in central Indiana and graduated from Ball State University. I studied Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship.  I worked in the motorsports Industry then started my first company in 1996. I sold that company three years ago and am now retired. I married my college sweetheart (Ann) and we have been together since my sophomore year in college. We left the Midwest for Denver, Colorado in 1998. This is our third year at River Hall.

I've been playing golf since I was a junior in High School. Besides River Hall, I am also currently a member at The Ranch Country Club in Colorado.  I was also a member at Memorial Park Golf Course in Indiana.

Golf Leadership experiences through the years:

In Indiana, I founded, organized and led an intra-city Ryder Cup Style event between the city's two clubs, sponsored by the city's daily newspaper.

In Colorado, I was chosen by our club's board to Chair the Golf and Greens Committee and was elected 3 separate times and chaired our club's Men's Golf Association. I have served on the Interview Committee during our search for a new Head Golf Professional. I currently serve and have served for years as the Chairman of our "Shoot-Out" (member/guest) committee. Over the years,  leaders from our club's Ladies Golf Association have sought my counsel on assistance for improvements with their organization.   Last year I was recruited by the Colorado Golf Association to train and qualify to be a Course Rater and have just finished my training and am currently working through my apprenticeship to serve in that capacity.

Additional info:

My background is in Motorsports, where my company was in charge of establishing rules and guidelines, and then training and overseeing the officials enforcing those rules...for over 25 years.  In my golf club leadership roles, I have been part of establishing rules and guidelines for numerous events and have been part of the decision-making team for important rulings. Independent of our club, I also lead a 6 day a week golf game ("The Horse Group") with over 120 people on the email list. In that role, I set up and use Golf Genius daily for sign-ups, scoring and payouts.
